Buddha is depicted sitting atop of moon disc of a beautifully carved double lotus seat with a calm expression on his face. His left hand is on his lap with the palm up and the right hand is extended to touch the ground, symbolizing the Buddha's enlightenment under the bodhi tree when he summoned the earth goddess, Sthavara, to bear witness to his attainment of enlightenment.
