Traditionally Handcrafted Bodhisattva Vajrasattva Statue for Meditation and Ritual
We have meticulously hand-carved this classic copper statue of bodhisattva Vajrasattva statue in our studio. The statue depicts the deity reclining in a lotus posture upon a moon disc lotus seat. He is holding a bell in one hand and a vajra in the other, representing the union of wisdom and compassion. The headpiece the deity is depicted wearing is filled with precious gemstones carefully placed by our artists. This gold-gilded copper statue was carved out with hammers and chisels by our traditionally trained Vajrayana artists.

Vajrasattva is typically regarded as the second patriarch in the Shingon Buddhist lineage, the first being Vairocana Buddha. According to Kukai's writings in Record of the Dharma Transmission, Nagarjuna encountered Vajrasatva in an iron tower in southern India, based on Amoghavajra's testimony. As recounted in the Mahavairocana Sutra, Vajrasatva inducted Nagarjuna into the abhiseka ceremony and entrusted him with the esoteric teachings he had gained from Vairocana Buddha. Kukai doesn't go into detail on Vajrasatva or his beginnings.
