Originally Hand Carved Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture
We, the Kathmandu Valley artist, have sculpted this exquisite Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture in a traditional Himalayan style. Buddha is depicted seated on a top of a moon disc lotus seat with meditating expression. The elegant gold-plated halo illuminates his face, while the wonderfully carved lotus seat is seen as mesmerizing. We have originally hand carved this statue in a pure copper body and beautifully gilded it with 24k gold. His right hand is on earth touching mudra while his left is holding an alms bowl. This indoor art of meditation will be an excellent dharma gift for a practitioner like you.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
