Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture, Buddhism Enlightened Deity Statue
This statue shows Buddha Shakyamuni, Buddhism Enlightened deity, in a seated posture magnificently. This sculpture is handcrafted in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist in copper and gilded in 24K Gold. The earlobes are lengthy and pierced. In the mudra (gesture) of Earth Witness, the right arm is stretched across the knee with the fingertips of the hand touching the ground, signaling the Buddha's enlightenment to the personified 'Goddess of the Earth.' A gift from the Kings of the Four Directions is a black begging bowl supported by the left handheld in the mudra of meditation in the lap. In the Vajrayana pose, the two legs are folded, with the right leg over the left.
