Buddhist Shakyamuni Buddha Statue | Himalayan Art
Shakyamuni Buddha is shown magnificently in this Buddhist statue. This Himalayan art is hand-carved in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist in copper and gilded in 24K Gold. Shakyamuni is gold-colored, with blue-black hair in little tufts and a prominent crown protuberance ornamented with a gold adornment, as is the regular appearance of a buddha. In the earth witness mudra, the right hand is extended across the knee with the fingertips touching the ground (gesture). The left hand is placed on the lap in the mudra of meditation. He sits in a vajra stance on a lotus seat and aureola enclosed by an ornate gold studded with corals, wearing monk robes.

According to Buddhist scriptures, Shakyamuni was born at Lumbini Gardens in what is now Rummindei, Nepal. My mother died on the seventh day after his birth, and Mahprajpat, her younger sister, reared him. He has claimed to have excelled in both learning and martial arts during his childhood and adolescence. Despite being nurtured in the luxury of the royal palace, he appears to have become acutely aware of and deeply bothered by the problem of human misery.
