Dakini Kurukulla, Red Tara Statue
This Kurukulla, also known as the Red tara statue, is handmade by an artist from Kathmandu. The dakini is depicted in a wrathful expression with hair flowing upward like blazing fire. She is dancing with her right leg lifted, stomping on a defeated human, illustrating both exterior and interior problems. She has four arms and a variety of weapons, suggesting her ability to bewitch and captivate men's and women's hearts. She prepares to shoot a magnificent silver crafted arrow whose shaft is made of flower details and whose flight is made of leaf details, using two hands to draw a bow made of silver. Her other left-hand holds a lasso while her right hand holds a flower goad beautifully silver crafted with various details. They also represent her capacity to sway others to aid and defend her followers.

Kurukulla is an aspect of Tara, and she is also known as Red Tara. Her Tibetan name is Rigjyedma, meaning “she who is the cause of knowledge.” She bestows these qualities upon her followers, enabling them to sway others to their wishes and fulfill their desires. Her powerful charms also will allow her to lead straying practitioners back to the path of Dharma compassionately.
