Traditionally Made Himalayan Statue of Dhyani Buddha Vairocana
The Dhyani Buddha Vairocana statue was expertly made according to tradition by Lalitpur's skilled carvers, who carved intricate patterns into every square inch of the statue. The statue's body is copper embedded with different semi-precious gemstones and gilded with 24-karat real gold. The god is dressed in kasaya robes and seated on a Tibetan cushion decorated with beautiful lotus blossom patterns. His two hands are interlocked, resting upon his lap, holding a dharma wheel. He demonstrates his capacity to defeat ignorance by making a hand motion that represents instructing and spinning the Wheel of Dharma. Our painters worked on this statue for a few months, refining the details.

Vairocana/Mahavairocana Buddha is one of the five Dhyani Buddhas sitting on a lotus pedestal surrounded by hundreds of flowers in the statue. He has three heads, and his hands are in a meditational posture. Adhi Buddha created Vairocana as one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Vairocana means "luminous" or "embodiment of light" in Sanskrit. Vairocana is a Primordial Buddha who sits in the heart of the temple. He's also known as the "great lighting one," "the Life force that illuminates the cosmos."
