Hand-Carved Buddhist Dorje Sempa Payer Sculpture
The Dorje Sempa Payer Sculpture was expertly hand-carved with meticulous detail by Nepalese master carvers in our studio. The figurine was made of copper, gilded using genuine 24k gold, and polished to give the figure a lustrous shine. The deity is depicted seated on a moon disc lotus with a serene look while holding a bell in his left hand over his lap and a vajra closer to his chest. The carving patterns of the statue were uniquely created in the valley of Kathmandu with accurate design patterns as in traditional iconography. Vajrasattva is adorned with different body ornaments. These body ornaments, including the crown, are artistically embellished with valuable gemstones. We have used acrylic paint to highlight the facial expression of the deity.

Vajrasatva is typically regarded as the second patriarch in the Shingon Buddhist lineage, the first being Vairocana Buddha. According to Kukai's writings in Record of the Dharma Transmission, Nagarjuna encountered Vajrasatva in an iron tower in southern India, based on Amoghavajra's testimony. As recounted in the Mahavairocana Sutra, Vajrasatva inducted Nagarjuna into the abhiseka ceremony and entrusted him with the esoteric teachings he had gained from Vairocana Buddha. Kukai doesn't go into detail on Vajrasatva or his beginnings.
