This is a hand-carved sculpture of The Gautama Buddha Shakyamuni, which has been gilded with pure 24k gold. Nepali artists made the statue using precious jewels and embellishments. With a peaceful and serene expression, he is depicted on a moon disc lotus seat. His right hand is on the earth touching mudra while his left hand is holding an alms bowl. This elegant and exquisite artistry is one distinctive feature of Himalayan Sculpting art culture.
