Green Tara Goddess is Also A Meditational Deity, Buddhist Statue
This lovely Green Tara Goddess, also a Meditational Deity Buddhist statue, is hand-carved in copper and gilded in 24K gold in Kathmandu by Nepali artisans. She is the goddess of global compassion with noble and enlightened behavior. She is seated on a magnificently crafted lotus seat, wearing precious ornaments and diadem on dark blue hair flowing through her shoulder. Her right hand is resting on the hip in granting gesture, and her left hand is holding the stem of the lotus. She looks peaceful and radiates a positive aura toward practitioners.

According to Tara Tantra, she was born eons ago as the daughter of a king. She was a pious and caring princess who regularly provided offerings and prayers to the consecrated monks and nuns. As a result of her spiritual achievements, the monks told her that they would pray for her to be reborn as a man so that she may disseminate Buddhist teachings. She replied that there was neither male nor female in truth, that nothing existed in reality. She desires to continue in female form to serve other beings until everyone attains enlightenment, emphasizing the monk's lack of knowledge in assuming only male preachers for the Buddhist religion.
