Traditionally Hand-Carved Statue of Lotus Born, Guru Padmasambhava
Legends have it Guru Rinpoche, also known as the Guru Padmasambhava, was born from a Lotus. This antique finished statue of Guru is handmade in our studio, Kathmandu. We sculpted the deity on a copper body, gilded it with 24k gold, and gave it an antique finish, a highlight of the statue. He is seated above a moon disc lotus with his right foot pointing outwards, a vajra in his right hand, a skull bowl in his left hand, and a trident resting along his left shoulder.

Padmasambhava is not only a fully enlightened Buddha, but he has also manifested as one of the greatest sages of the Vajrayana Buddhist world. He was born miraculously and served infinite beings for millenniums through the power of his wisdom and compassion. He manifested in Zangdok Palri Pure land and remained there in the body of light.
