Mandarava, an Indian princess from the eighth century, was a key disciple and consort of Padmasambhava, and she was instrumental in the propagation of Vajrayana Buddhism. She represents the confluence of compassion and wisdom and is thought to be an emanation of Vajrayogini. Renowned for her deep spiritual achievements, Mandarava shared high realization with Padmasambhava and made a substantial contribution to the dissemination of esoteric practices. She is frequently portrayed with a calm look, with dakini decorations, and clutching a long-life vase and a skull cup. Tibetan Buddhists are still motivated by Mandarava's life and teachings, especially those of the Nyingma school, which embodies spiritual strength, knowledge, and devotion.
