Namo Shakyamuni Buddha, Tibetan Himalayan Art Statue
Namo Shakyamuni Buddha is shown magnificently in this Tibetan statue. This Himalayan art is hand-carved in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist in copper and gilded in 24K Gold. Shakyamuni is gold-colored, with blue-black hair in little tufts and an ornament with a gold adornment, as is the regular appearance. In the earth witness mudra, the right hand is extended across the knee with the fingertips touching the ground (gesture). He sits in a vajra stance on a lotus throne, enclosed by an ornate gold belt studded with wishing jewels, wearing monk robes.

Shakyamuni traveled south from Shakya's palace in Kapilavastu to Rajagriha, the capital of the kingdom of Magadha, where he studied with Alara Kalama and subsequently Uddaka Ramaputta, both yogic meditation instructors. Despite mastering their different types of meditation fast, he was unable to discover solutions to his queries in these disciplines.
