The Protector Deity statue is hand-carved by the artist of Kathmandu in copper and 24k Gold. Sakya Mahakala, also known as Gonpo Panjarnatha, is the Sakya sect's most popular Protector. A burning Flame behind him and the upward fire-like hair with big glazing eyes portray his wrathful nature. He wears a crown of skulls, and his right leg is on top of a human face.
