The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara- Traditionally Hand Carved Statue
The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is depicted atop a moon disc lotus seat in this statue. In Kathmandu, the statue is traditionally hand-carved by a Nepali artist. His face, which is calm and tranquil, is illuminated by a flawless gold-plated halo. His two front hands are clasped in front of his jewel-draped heart, and he holds lotus and crystal rosary in his upper left and right hands, respectively.
