Traditionally Hand Carved The Medicine Buddha Sculpture
The Medicine Buddha Sculpture was exclusively hand-carved by the master craftsmen of Nepal, with flawless intricate designs carved in our studio in Kathmandu. The statue was traditionally carved using a copper body, gilded with 24k genuine gold and finely painted with acrylic paint to highlight the carvings of the statue. The statue is depicted seated upon a moon disc lotus as the figure is illuminated by the intricate design patterns of the throne. The buddha holds a bowl filled with medicine and a Myrobalan plant with his right hand slightly touching the ground. The artisan of the statue has passed from generation to generation, reflecting Buddhism, whose art is remarkably valuable.

Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaishajyaguru in Sanskrit, is regarded as the Buddha of Healing. His teachings aim to free sentient beings from sickness, pain, anguish, and unhappiness while also emphasizing the need to acquire prosperity and enjoyment in this life. Many meditators in the Mahayana tradition admire his healing abilities. He is frequently shown with a blue (lapis lazuli) body and hands carrying a begging bowl and medical herbs.
