Tibetan Buddha Amitayus statue is hand carved holding the vase containing the Eternal life nectar this is the Infinite Life Buddha. He is seated in vajra posture on a lotus seat with a calm and peaceful face, made of copper body and gilded with pure 24K gold.
He is the principal buddha in Pure Land Buddhism. There is a lot of confusion between the two buddhas - Amitayus and Amitabha - in Himalayan and Tibetan traditions. Amitayus and Amitabha Buddha are not the same person or thing in early sutra literature. Amitayus is known for his longevity attribute, magnetizing Western attributes of discernment, pure perception, and purification of the aggregates with a deep awareness of emptiness of all phenomena.
