Sovereignty of Enlightened Mind, Vairocana Sculpture
The magnificent sculpture of the Vairocana Buddha sitting on a lion symbolizes Dharmakaya's omniscient wisdom. This excellent work, which weighs 6.41 kg and measures 13.2 inches by 12.2 inches at the base, is expertly constructed from copper, gilded in 24K gold, and enhanced with paintings in both gold and acrylic. Seated regally atop a white snow lion, it embodies the essence of Vairocana's enlightened presence and represents supremacy over the ego and the phenomenal universe.
As he teaches the Dharma, Vairocana is depicted in the sculpture in the famous Dharmachakra Mudra, signifying his function in illuminating the cosmos with the light of wisdom and truth. The white snow lion, "Singe," represents fearlessness, power, and the snowy mountain ranges of Tibet, reflecting the Buddha's sovereign rule over the samsara and his guidance towards liberation.
