One of the eight great bodhisattvas and a well-known character in Vajrayana Buddhism is Vajrapani Bhutadamara. He is frequently shown as a wrathful deity with a blue-black body and decorations of skulls and snakes in iconography. The intellect is thought to be protected and purified by Vajrapani Bhutadamara, and his practice is frequently used to defeat opponents and destructive powers. He exemplifies the skilled and loving ways that bodhisattvas might aid sentient beings in their quest for enlightenment.
