Handcrafted Buddhist Deity Vajrasatttva Statue Dorje Sempa Statue
The Vajrasattva Sculpture Dorje Sempa was expertly hand-carved in our studio by us, the master craftsmen of Nepal, the centuries-old Buddhist Himalayan craft of creating sacred sculptures. Carved from a copper body, gilded with 24k genuine gold and acrylic paint to highlight the intricate design patterns of the statue. The deity is depicted seated on the top of a moon disc lotus seat, having a serene facial expression. He is holding a vajra with his right hand and a bell in his left. It took us months of hard work to carve the copper body and adorned with precious corals and gems. This statue would be a perfect shrine for your meditation practice as a gift from Nepal.

Vajrasattva is typically regarded as the second patriarch in the Shingon Buddhist lineage, the first being Vairocana Buddha. According to Kukai's writings in Record of the Dharma Transmission, Nagarjuna encountered Vajrasatva in an iron tower in southern India, based on Amoghavajra's testimony. As recounted in the Mahavairocana Sutra, Vajrasatva inducted Nagarjuna into the abhiseka ceremony and entrusted him with the esoteric teachings he had gained from Vairocana Buddha. Kukai doesn't go into detail on Vajrasatva or his beginnings.
