Vajrasattva (Dorje Sempa) Statue, Tibetan Buddhist Deity
The statue is of the Tibetan Buddhist deity Vajrasattva, Dorje Sempa. He is shown holding a bell in his left hand at hip level and a Vajra in his right hand at chest level. The bell represents knowledge, while the vajra represents compassion. He rests serenely on a moon disc atop a lotus seat, his legs crossed.
Vajrasattva is one of the most popular deities in Tibetan Buddhism. Every lineage does his practice before formally starting any tantra practice. Minimum 100 thousand Mantra recitation and visualization is done while doing preliminary/ngondro practice.
